2013 - 2014 SEASON
AAO Team Tryouts will be conducted for each AAO team as scheduled on this page. 10 players maximum will be selected for each team. No pre-registration is required to attend AAO Team tryouts. There is no fee to tryout and no special apparel is necessary except comfortable basketball tryout clothes and basketball shoes.
Practice: AAO Teams will practice a minimum of two days per week. Coaches will notify their teams of location, days and times.
Philosophy: Our philosophy is to not to teach players "plays", but rather to teach players "how to play". AAO Team coaches instill important basketball fundamentals, including the offensive and defensive skills required to play at the Junior and Senior High School level. AAO works in direct cooperation with Fayetteville and Rogers High School coaches to provide the best in player development.
Fee: Total fee for AAO Team membership is $205 per player, total due by October 31. Every player must register here at aaoteam.org after making the team, by Friday, October 4. During registration you may pay by credit card, paypal or notify us that you will mail your full payment. Online payment offers a payment plan, $100 now and $105 on October 31. AAO has a NO REFUND Policy.
Scholarships Available: We don’t want cost to be a limiting factor for a young student athlete who wants to pursue their athletic dream. Our philosophy is to provide a “helping hand”, not a “hand out” when it comes to giving financial aid. We require all families to invest some financial amount. Once a player makes his/her team they may receive financial aid on a per case basis. Information about financial aid is available online with registration.
Expectations for Parents and Players:
Parents, before you attend tryouts or register your child, AAO and your team coaches want your expectations to be clear. This is not a local recreational program. AAO Teams are part of this NWA competitive program that utilizes skill training, practices, and regional competition to develop young athletes. It is a higher and more intense level of practice, coaching and play. Equal playing time is not guaranteed. Playing time is earned, not given. We ask every player and parent to give their full commitment to the program/team prior to signing up. Unforeseen situations occasionally occur. But as a rule we want this team to have top priority! If your child makes the team, prepare for a wonderful opportunity for skill development in a positive environment. We look forward to a great season!
