When did you start playing basketball?
When I was in high school

What are some things you like to do besides basketball?
Spend time with family and hang out with my teammates

What does being a team player mean to you?
It means everything to me.

Why would it be necessary to use teamwork when playing basketball?
Your team helps you succeed.

What would happen if you didn’t work together as a team on the court?
You can't achieve your goals if you don't work together as a team.

Is being a team player off the court also important?
Yes. In life, in the classroom, in your family, on the job, most things you do require teamwork. You can always accomplish more when you work together.

What would you say is the biggest hindrance to teamwork for any group?
Selfishness

What are some things you can do as an individual to help your team work together?
Think about others more than myself and put the team first.

Have you had group projects to do in school?
Yes.

What are some differences between a group that uses teamwork & one that doesn’t?
Everyone has a role to play in a group project and everyone has to do their part or else it doesn't work. Groups that work together will succeed while groups who don't will fail. It's that important.

What advice would you give to middle school students about how they can be a team player in their family and why that’s important?
Each member of a family needs to strive to do their part in order for the home to be a good environment. Whether it is washing dishes or sweeping the floor, every job in the home is important. Remember, your responsibilities are important to your family!
